Re-miking

Well, it seems our old pal Mike is done with his “Hate my New Job” Boot Camp and is prepared to return to the ranks of the downtrodden.  I guess we will have some “lessons learned” to leverage, with respect to what one should ask when interviewing for a job.

Well, welcome back Mike… the bubble hasn’t been the same.  I am pretty sure it won’t be occupied with the same reckless abandon of a once lame-duck employee, but I’m sure it won’t be far from it.  Oh no, you will have your hands full defending allegations of “grovelling” and “quitter” and the like.  It’ll be fun.

Oh, and you forgot to update a change log.

Cheers!

It’s a girl!

We finally made it in for our “sneak peek” ultrasound.  We found out the gender, and it is going to be a girl!  I was indifferent about the gender, but this is good as my sister has a 6-month old; they should be pretty good pals.  The names we have considered so far are Sophia and Olivia, but haven’t decided yet.  We will probably hit some name books in the near future, though most assuredly it will not be a dictionary.

Mike’s new job

Developmestruction, anyone?

Well, this isn’t exactly his new job, but similar, I hear.

Cat++

I flew down to Florida on Saturday for an early Mother’s Day BBQ.  I got to see my niece whom I have not seen before, at least not in person.  She is such a good baby.  Happy, and though gabby, she doesn’t cry much at all.

It was a whirlwind trip, and I didn’t get to see much of anyone else while I was down there.  I flew in at 3pm and then left the next morning at 7am for the long drive back home.  I was there to pick up Antonella’s new wheels, an 89 Honda Accord.  It is in very good shape and has low miles for being as old as it is.  It should keep her mobile for at least a year, then maybe we can find her something newer.

My dad also gave back our cat that we left some time ago.  She meowed a bit at first, but after a couple of hours she grew used to the car and curled up on the dash and slept.  If I hit a bump or something, rousing her from her slumber, she would admonish me for it and then go back to sleep.  I would just pass off some of her meowing as grumbling at the other drivers, such as “What was that guy thinking?”, which made it a little more interesting for me.

Anyway, we have the full complement of cats again.  Though Milo and Zoe remembered her and welcomed her, Nala was used to being the only cat, and she will require a little readjustment period.

Baby Update

So far, we don’t know what sex the baby is.  Our attempts to make it to the doctor for an ultrasound have been thwarted, though we should find out in the next week or so.  Antonella is about 5 months along, though…so we should be able to find out the sex when we go.
