Williamsburg and Yorktown
Jun 27th
Antonella, Steve, and I went to Williamsburg and Yorktown this weekend. It was overcast most of the weekend, but had we pushed it back a week, it would have fallen on July 4th weekend, and it would’ve been packed. Williamsburg was much larger than I thought it would be. We did everything we planned on doing, minus the Handsome Cab. The time sneaked up on us, and we missed our opportunity.
Yorktown was your typical battlefield…just grassy expanses with signs saying what happened at each point. It was neat seeing all of the surrendered cannons, howitzers, and mortars, though.

Well, I passed the exam, so now onto the next one
Yes, I eeked by with 760 (needed 700 to pass). I am not sure what the max is, but there were 42 fun-filled questions and I still had over an hour to spare when I finished. I could’ve gone back and looked at the answers again, but a) it was a little different than I anticipated, and b) Screw it…if you don’t know it after reading it 5 or 6 times, you just have to call ExecuteNonQuery on the ol’ Rectal database and pick something. (I realize that is a nerdy joke, but look at this post…)
As Han Solo once said…

“Here goes nothing.”
I take my first Microsoft Certification test this afternoon: 70-316 Developing Windows Applications with C#.NET. If I pass it, it is on to the Web Apps, though I don’t want to put the cart before the horse.
My Ram’s Head Beer Passport count is now 81. I have finished the A’s and B’s and next visit I should be able to knock out the C’s. (There are only 4).
My take on the US v. Italy World Cup game: the referee that kicked out both of our players for such trivial stuff should be sent packing. I thought that there was a bit of difference between De Rossi’s flagrant elbow jab to McBride and a late tackle.
Semi-conscious joke
Jun 9th
In a waking moment, do you ever come up with something, be it a little joke, a neat story, or whatever? After all, Einstein actually came up with his theory of relativity based upon a dream he had.  I don’t know why I brought that up, as the rest of this blog is sure to be anti-climactic. But what I wanted to state is: The subconscious is a powerful thing.
For instance, this morning I woke to find Antonella’s bedside light on at 2 in the morning and she was not there. She returned just before five o’ clock and had her book that she needs to read for class. When I woke at 2, a joke popped into my head from nowhere. It is not necessarily a good joke, but it required some level of thought, however shallow.Â
Before it gets any further out-of-hand, the joke is this:
I was sitting at the table eating alphabet soup and Antonella comes in, grabs the spoon out of my hand and scoops up one letter, the letter “A.” After eating it, she hands me back the spoon and walks off. I offer to make her a bowl, and she says, “No, all I wanted was a byte.”
Now, of course this is a lame nerd-esque computer joke, and not necessarily a good one. I didn’t wake with the need to tell Antonella or anything. Did I think up that joke in the split second that I woke up, or when? I know I have never heard that joke before, so I am at a bit of a loss.
I have thought up interesting story plots in the same way, but after forgetting them in favor of only remembering that it was a good idea, I started to keep a journal and a pen by the bed. Coincidentally, it seems I stopped dreaming, or at least remembering having dreamt anything, about the same time that I put the writing materials close by. Did I stop dreaming and this is just a coincidence, or did my subconcious obfuscate my dreams after-the-fact because of the fear of writing? I mean, I don’t know if I have a latent fear of writing, but I am not aware of it.
Anyway, this is the first thing in over 4 years that I can remember from a dream, or some semi-conscious thought.Â
Happy News

Jess & Leroy got married this past weekend. Antonella & I were unable to attend, but I want to wish them all the best. I hope there are pictures soon!
Well, Leroy, what will you do with all your free time, now that the big day has come to pass?
Welcome to June
Jun 1st
The baby is doing fine, as is Antonella.
I did a brake job on her car…so it should pass inspection now. The weather is pretty warm right now here in Maryland. It was a long, mild Spring and then the next day it was hot and humid.
Antonella and I have been watching a lot of old movies based upon Hemmingway books. So far we watched A Farewell to Arms and To Have And Have Not. I still want to see some others.
I am finishing up some of the books I have been reading for some time. I need to go buy some more when I get time.
I hope your lives are more interesting…
