And So It Begins

Well, March Madness is finally here, and I am, well, quite mad.  Normally I wouldn’t follow it so closely, but with all 5 returning starters from the National Champion Gators returning, I have to admit that my expectation is that they will repeat.  Of course, going into last year’s tourney, I had more realistic expectations and hoped that the Gators could simply make the Elite 8 or Final 4.  Well, I read something pretty funny today, from Slate.  Apparently, my beloved Gators are one of their 11 most-hated teams (joining Duke, among others).  But the funny reason is why they hate the Gators.  (Hint:  Writer is an OSU fan).

Sitting up

Yesterday, Antonella and I took Sophia to meet with her sponsors in the Maryland Infant & Toddler program.  She got her “physical therapy,” which consists of them helping her figure out how to do stuff like crawl, sit up, stand, etc., and to instruct us on exercises to assist her in doing so.   In days and months past, Sophia has not been able to sit on her own, but she had been playing a lot in her Exersaucer.

So, they put her down on her rear and held her sitting upright.  Then, the lady put something in front of her and Sophia sat up.  She even corrected herself.  Seems she was already able to sit up by herself–we just never knew it.

She still can’t crawl just yet, as she keeps trying to either grab stuff with both hands and thereby falling on her face, or trying to put her feet down instead of her knees.  It takes a little more arm strength with your feet versus your knees, so she was getting frustrated.  But, they showed us how to help her figure it out.  It shouldn’t be too long.

Sophia update

At her weigh-in last week, she was 1 stone, 1 pound, 10 ounces, or for those who don’t like the old English system, 15 lbs, 10 ounces, or 7.08738078 kilograms.  I posted three new recent pictures, too.
